1200 V / 40 A TrenchStop IGBT for industrial drives and power conversion
The Infineon IHW20N120R5XKSA1 is a 1200 V, 40 A TrenchStop IGBT in a TO-247-3 through-hole package. The 175 °C maximum junction temperature provides thermal headroom for compact heatsink designs in industrial enclosures.
Switching and conduction performance at the test condition
At the standard test condition of 600 V bus, 20 A collector current, 10 Ω gate resistor, and 15 V gate drive, the part delivers a 1.75 V typical saturation voltage and 750 µJ turn-off energy. The 170 nC total gate charge gives the drive circuit designer a clear number for sizing the gate driver output stage and estimating drive power.
Mounting and thermal interface
The TO-247-3 package (PG-TO247-3) is a standard through-hole footprint with a large metal tab for direct heatsink mounting. The 288 W maximum power dissipation assumes proper thermal interface material and adequate airflow or forced convection.
