Ratings that drive the design
The 600 V collector-emitter breakdown sets the DC-link voltage ceiling. The 60 A continuous collector rating (90 A pulsed) defines the load current the die can sustain with proper heatsinking; the 187 W maximum power dissipation tells you the thermal interface must handle that heat at the operating junction temperature. The 175°C Tj(max) is the absolute limit for thermal runaway protection; real designs should derate based on the thermal impedance of the chosen heatsink.
