1200 V, 16 A TrenchStop IGBT in TO-247-3
The Infineon IGW08T120 is a 1200 V, 16 A NPT Trench Field Stop IGBT from the TrenchStop series, housed in a standard TO-247-3 through-hole package. It is designed for medium-frequency hard-switching applications such as motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies, welding inverters, and solar inverters where a 1200 V blocking voltage and moderate current density are required. The Trench Field Stop structure delivers a low saturation voltage of 2.2 V typical at 15 V gate drive and 8 A collector current, keeping conduction losses manageable in the target load range.
Switching performance and gate drive
Gate charge is 53 nC. Switching energy is 670 µJ (turn-on) and 700 µJ (turn-off) at 600 V, 8 A, 81 Ω gate resistor, and 15 V gate drive.
Package and mounting
The PG-TO247-3 package provides three through-hole leads and a large backside collector tab for direct heatsink mounting.

Junction temperature range is -40 °C to 150 °C.
