650 V, 150 A fast recovery diode in TO-247-3
The Infineon IDW75D65D1XKSA1 is a general-purpose fast recovery diode rated for 650 V reverse voltage and 150 A average rectified current, housed in a through-hole TO-247-3 package (PG-TO247-3). It is designed for hard-switched power converters, freewheeling diodes in motor drives, and boost stages in power-factor-correction circuits where fast recovery (< 500 ns, > 200 mA Io) reduces turn-off losses. The 108 ns reverse recovery time (trr) keeps switching losses manageable in continuous-conduction-mode boost converters and IGBT snubber networks. Junction temperature range of -40°C to 175°C covers industrial and automotive under-hood environments.
Forward drop and leakage — what they mean for the BOM
Forward voltage is specified at 1.7 V at 75 A. Reverse leakage is 40 µA at 650 V.
Package and mounting
Through-hole TO-247-3 package. The PG-TO247-3 variant has the same footprint and pinout as standard TO-247. The large tab provides both electrical connection (typically the cathode) and thermal path to the heatsink. Use a thermal pad or grease rated for 175°C continuous operation. Isolate the tab if the heatsink is at chassis potential.
