31 W flyback with a 650 V CoolMOS switch in a through-hole DIP-7
The Infineon ICE2QR4765ZXKLA1 is a quasi-resonant offline flyback PWM controller with an integrated 650 V CoolMOS power switch, part of the CoolSET™-Q1 family. It delivers up to 31 W in isolated flyback topologies, switching at 52 kHz. The PG-DIP-7-1 package (7 leads) keeps the thermal path simple — a through-hole mount that sinks heat through the leads into the board copper, and is easy to rework on a bench.
Fault protections and supply range
Built-in fault protections cover current limiting, over load, over temperature, and over voltage — no external comparators needed. The Vcc supply range runs from 10.5 V to 27 V, with a start-up threshold of 18 V. The 50% maximum duty cycle suits standard flyback designs without extra slope compensation.
ROHS3 compliant.
Rework at the bench — hand-solderable DIP-7
The PG-DIP-7-1 package is through-hole with 0.300" (7.62 mm) body width and seven leads. Clear pin 1 marking, wide lead pitch — hand-solderable with a standard iron, and lifts clean under hot air if you need to swap it. No fine-pitch stencil or reflow profile required.
At 52 kHz, the transformer core size for a 31 W output balances copper loss and core loss. The 650 V breakdown covers universal AC input with margin for leakage spikes; a snubber across the primary winding clamps the drain voltage below the rating.
