Parallel FRAM with 90 ns access — no-wear data logging
The Cypress (Infineon) FM28V100-TG is a 1 Mbit parallel FRAM organized as 128K x 8 bits. It reads and writes at 90 ns access time.
Parallel vs SPI — which bus fits your BOM
The FM28V100-TG uses a parallel address/data bus (128K x 8), which means it connects directly to the memory controller of most MCUs and SoCs without a serial-to-parallel conversion. The sibling FM25VN10-G also stores 1 Mbit but talks SPI at 40 MHz. The parallel part suits designs that already have a parallel memory bus or need the fastest random-access read — 90 ns vs the SPI part's serial latency. The SPI part saves four to eight PCB traces, which matters on dense boards. Choose the FM28V100-TG when you want a pin-compatible upgrade from an older parallel SRAM or EEPROM without re-laying out the board.
Active lifecycle — no redesign clock ticking
Infineon (Cypress) lists the FM28V100-TG as Active. There is no last-time-buy window to schedule and no forced redesign horizon for production programs that qualify this part today. ROHS3 compliant.
