What this FRAM does on the board
The FM25H20-GTR is a 2Mbit ferroelectric RAM from Cypress's F-RAM™ series, organized as 256K x 8 and accessed over a 40 MHz SPI bus. The 2.7 V to 3.6 V supply and -40°C to 85°C range fit it for industrial data loggers, metering, and configuration storage where frequent small writes matter.
40 MHz SPI — what it buys you
The SPI interface runs at 40 MHz. FRAM endurance is effectively unlimited, so you can log at full bus rate without wear-leveling.
Lifecycle reality — obsolete, sourced to order
No last-time-buy window remains; the only supply is through independent distribution on a quoted-to-order basis. If you are qualifying a new design, look at current-production FRAM parts from Infineon (which now owns the Cypress F-RAM line) or a pin-compatible SPI FRAM from another vendor.
