The Infineon FM24V05-G is a 512Kbit non-volatile FRAM (Ferroelectric RAM) memory organised as 64K x 8 bits, communicating over an I²C bus at up to 3.4 MHz. It combines the non-volatility of EEPROM with the write speed and endurance of SRAM — no page-buffer delays, no erase cycles before writes. The 130 ns access time and 3.4 MHz clock make it a fit for data-logging, configuration storage, and metering applications where frequent, fast writes to non-volatile memory are needed.
Supply range and I²C bus compatibility
The 2V to 3.6V supply range covers both 3.3V and 2.5V rails, and the I²C interface is fully compatible with 3.3V logic levels without extra level shifting. The 3.4 MHz clock frequency is the high-speed mode (Hs-mode) ceiling — the part also operates at the standard 100 kHz and fast 400 kHz modes, so it can share a bus with slower peripherals. The 130 ns access time is the random-read cycle; sequential reads run at the bus clock rate, so sustained throughput is limited by the I²C master, not the memory.
