USB Type-C controller with a Cortex-M0 inside
It integrates the protocol logic for USB Type-C port management, including cable orientation detection and role negotiation, in a single 20-ball WLCSP package measuring 1.63x2.03 mm.
Nine general-purpose I/Os are available for auxiliary signals like VCONN control, dead-battery detection, or status LEDs.
Interface set and system integration
The I²C interface is the typical control channel for reading port status and setting policy; the SPI and UART paths are useful for debug or bridging to legacy peripherals. The 1.71 V minimum supply means it can operate in low-voltage battery systems (e.g., single-cell Li-ion at 3.0 V nominal, down to 1.8 V near end-of-discharge) without a boost converter.
