PSoC 4 BLE — wireless MCU with programmable analog and touch
The Infineon CY8C4247LQI-BL453 is a PSoC® 4 CY8C4xx8 BLE series microcontroller built around a 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0 core running at 48 MHz. What sets it apart from a plain MCU is the integrated Bluetooth Low Energy radio, CapSense capacitive-touch sensing with SmartSense auto-tuning, and a programmable analog front-end that includes an 8-channel 12-bit ADC. This combination targets battery-operated wireless sensor nodes, portable medical devices, human-interface panels, and IoT edge endpoints where a separate Bluetooth IC and touch controller would otherwise inflate the BOM.
48 MHz Cortex-M0 with 36 I/O — what the peripheral set means for the BOM
The 48 MHz Cortex-M0 is not a heavy-lift application processor; it is sized for sensor polling, protocol handling, and BLE stack duty. The real BOM consolidation comes from the integrated Bluetooth and CapSense blocks — they eliminate a separate BLE SoC and a dedicated capacitive-touch controller IC. The 36 I/O are enough for a small keypad, a few LED indicators, and a SPI/I²C sensor bus, but not for a large TFT display or parallel memory bus. The 8x12b ADC covers battery monitoring and analog sensor inputs without an external converter. For designs that also need a DAC, the sibling CY8C4245LQI-483 adds 2x IDAC outputs, though it lacks Bluetooth.

This is a surface-mount part in a tray-packaged format. The 1.71 V minimum supply lets it pair with a single-cell battery without a boost converter.
