Core and memory budget
The CY8C4245LQI-483 runs an ARM Cortex-M0 core at 48 MHz — a single-cycle MAC-less pipeline that keeps interrupt latency deterministic. 32 KB of flash stores the application image; 4K x 8 of SRAM holds the stack and runtime data. For a typical CapSense or LIN-bus node, that split leaves enough headroom for the HAL and a small RTOS without squeezing the linker script.
Peripheral set and analog front-end
On-chip peripherals include CapSense for touch sensing, LCD drive, and a full set of brown-out/reset supervisors (Brown-out Detect/Reset, LVD, POR, WDT). The data converter section provides an 8-channel 12-bit SAR ADC and two IDAC outputs. The 12-bit SAR gives 4096 counts across the reference range — adequate for monitoring analog sensor inputs (thermistor, potentiometer, current shunt) at moderate update rates. The IDACs can source a programmable current for sensor excitation or closed-loop control.
