24 MHz ARM Cortex-M0+ with integrated CapSense — a BOM-efficient control MCU
This is an entry-to-mid-range PSoC 4 part aimed at cost-sensitive human-machine interface (HMI), sensor front-end, and control applications in industrial, consumer, and IoT edge nodes — think capacitive touch buttons, simple displays, motor control, and data logging.
For production planning, this removes the obsolescence risk that often drives urgent cross-reference searches on older PSoC 4 variants. The series is PSOC® 4 CY8C4000S, a current-generation family with roadmap continuity.
Industrial temperature grade and 48-TQFP package
The 48-TQFP (7x7 mm) package is a standard fine-pitch quad flat pack — easy to route on two-layer boards and compatible with reflow profiles for lead-free assembly. The 36 available I/O leave room for parallel LCD data buses or multiple serial peripherals without a port expander.
32 KB Flash and 4K x 8 RAM — sizing the firmware budget
With 32 KB Flash and 4K x 8 RAM, this MCU fits firmware images for CapSense button arrays, simple graphical LCD menus, and sensor fusion loops. The 4 KB RAM is tight for heavy buffering — plan for direct register-level I/O rather than large DMA buffers.
