16 MHz Cortex-M0 in an 8-pin SOIC
The CY8C4013SXI-400: With only 5 general-purpose I/O and a single serial interface (I²C), this is a part for a focused task: reading a sensor, driving a small indicator, or bridging a digital signal onto an I²C bus. The 16 MHz core can handle a 100 kHz I²C bus without wait-state bottlenecks, but the 2 KB SRAM limits buffering to a few hundred bytes of payload.
Supply voltage and temperature grade
No AEC-Q100 qualification is listed, so this part is not certified for automotive safety or powertrain applications.
On-chip peripherals reduce external parts count
Brown-out detect, power-on reset, a watchdog timer, and a PWM block are integrated on die. For a simple control loop — reading a hall-effect sensor over I²C and driving a PWM fan output — the CY8C4013SXI-400 needs no external supervisor IC, reset generator, or timer chip. The brown-out threshold is fixed; the datasheet reset voltage is not user-programmable, so the supply must stay above the dropout level during operation.
Active lifecycle and compliance
The part is ROHS3 compliant, covering all ten restricted substances including the four phthalates added in EU 2015/863.
