8051 core at 50 MHz with programmable analog
The CY8C3444LTI-119T runs an 8051 core at 50 MHz — the top speed in the PSoC 3 family. For a touch-scanning or sensor-fusion application, that clock budget covers the CapSense processing loop and the LCD refresh DMA transfers without stalling the serial interface. Program memory is 16 KB Flash (16K x 8), with 2K x 8 RAM and 512 x 8 EEPROM. The 16 KB footprint fits a medium-complexity 8051 stack — a CapSense library, a Modbus or custom serial protocol, and a state machine for the analog front-end. That means it runs from a 3.6 V Li-ion cell down to the regulator dropout, or from a 5 V industrial rail without a level shifter on the I/O.
Peripheral mix: CapSense, analog, and serial in one QFN
The on-chip analog block includes a 16-channel, 12-bit ADC and two 8-bit DACs. The 12-bit ADC resolves sensor inputs (temperature, pressure, current shunt) with enough margin for a 0.1% full-scale reading after calibration; the 8-bit DAC handles trim voltages or analog set-points. Serial connectivity covers I²C, SPI, UART/USART, and LINbus — the LIN controller is useful for automotive sub-systems or industrial sensor busses that use the LIN physical layer. The EBI/EMI interface allows expansion to external memory or parallel peripherals over the 25 available I/O lines. The peripheral set includes CapSense, DMA, LCD drive, POR, PWM, and WDT. The DMA engine offloads the 8051 core during ADC scan sequences or LCD frame refreshes — the core only handles the result parsing, not the data transfer.
Housed in a 48-VFQFN with exposed pad (7x7 mm, 0.5 mm pitch). The 48-QFN footprint occupies 49 mm² — tight enough for a two-layer board if the decoupling caps sit on the back side under the package. The 25 I/O count means some pins are dedicated to analog inputs or special functions; confirm each signal's assignment against the reference manual before committing the layout.
