M8C core at 24 MHz — what it handles
The 8-bit M8C CPU runs at 24 MHz, enough for sensor polling, keypad scanning, PWM generation, and low-speed communication protocol handling.
The 3 V nominal supply rail keeps power dissipation low — useful in loop-powered or battery-backed designs.
On-chip ADC and configurable blocks
The PSoC 1 architecture also includes programmable digital blocks that can implement PWM, timers, counters, UART, SPI, or I²C — the connectivity list covers I²C, IrDA, SPI, and UART/USART, so most serial sensor or actuator links can be handled without extra glue logic.
