Synchronous FIFO for rate-matching and packet buffering
The Cypress CY7C4211-10AXIT is a synchronous FIFO memory organized as 512 words by 9 bits, giving 4.5 Kbit of storage. It clocks at 100 MHz for back-to-back reads and writes, with an 8 ns access time from the read-enable edge. The 9-bit width carries a data byte plus a control or parity bit — useful in telecom or datacom links where an extra flag rides alongside the payload. Programmable almost-empty and almost-full flags let the host set interrupt or DMA thresholds without polling the fill level.
Industrial temperature range and 5 V supply
Maximum supply current is 40 mA at 100 MHz.
Expansion and flags
Depth and width expansion are supported, so multiple CY7C4211s can cascade for deeper or wider buffers. No retransmit or FWFT (First-Word Fall-Through) capability — the first read requires a read-enable cycle after the write. Uni-directional bus direction; the data path flows one way, typical for a rate-matching queue between two clock domains.
The CY7C4211-10AXIT is marked obsolete. Cypress (now part of Infineon) no longer manufactures this FIFO. No factory lead time applies.
