The Infineon CY7C1420KV18-300BZXC is a 36Mbit synchronous DDR II SRAM organized as 1M x 36, clocked at 300 MHz. That double-data-rate architecture means the part transfers data on both edges of the clock, effectively doubling the bus throughput per pin without raising the clock frequency. For a line card or network processor needing a wide, fast look-up table, this part keeps the pin count manageable while hitting the bandwidth target. The 1.7V to 1.9V core supply matches the low-voltage I/O of contemporary ASICs and FPGAs, so you avoid a separate voltage rail.
Package and temperature — where it fits
Check the MSL before you place it; a BGA this dense traps moisture under the balls, and skipping the bake means popcorning in the oven.
That said, the DDR II SRAM market has been consolidating — Infineon (via the Cypress acquisition) is one of the few remaining sources for this class of part. If you are freezing a BOM, lock in the allocation now rather than chasing it on the spot market later.
