The Infineon CY7C1355C-100AXCT is a 9 Mbit synchronous SRAM from the NoBL™ family, organized 256K x 36 and clocked at 100 MHz. The 7.5 ns access time gives the memory controller a full cycle to latch data without wait states, critical for back-to-back read/write pipelines in networking buffers or cache-line fills. NoBL architecture eliminates the dead cycle on bus-turnaround that conventional sync SRAMs require, so the data bus stays saturated at the 100 MHz rate.
Wide word width — 36-bit organization for parity or ECC
The 256K x 36 organization supports a 32-bit data word plus 4 parity/ECC bits in a single chip, saving board area versus two x18 parts. This is a natural fit for telecom line cards, packet buffers, and RAID controllers where data integrity over a wide bus matters more than raw density. The parallel interface keeps the pin count manageable in the 100-TQFP package.
Commercial temperature grade — indoor equipment only
It is not specified for industrial or automotive thermal ranges, so a motor-drive or under-hood application would need a wider-temperature sibling.
Supply rail and decoupling
The 100-TQFP (14x20 mm) footprint requires a solid ground plane and a 0.1 µF ceramic per supply pin within 5 mm of the package to keep switching noise under the 7.5 ns access window.
