Parametric fit for legacy board designs
The CY7C1021BNV33L-15VXC: The 15 ns access time and 15 ns write cycle time (word, page) mean the part can keep pace with a 66 MHz bus without wait states — a common speed grade for late-90s to mid-2000s embedded systems, DSPs, and networking controllers that used parallel SRAM for scratchpad or packet buffers. The commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C) limits it to indoor, controlled-environment equipment.
44-SOJ package — board integration note
Housed in a 44-SOJ (Small Outline J-lead) package with a 0.400-inch (10.16 mm) body width, the part is surface-mount but uses J-bend leads that require a specific solder paste stencil aperture — the lead footprint is wider than a standard SOIC, so a legacy board layout may already have the correct pad geometry. Supplied in tube packaging, the SRAM is suitable for hand-assembly or low-volume reflow. The J-lead form factor provides good coplanarity and visual solder-joint inspection access, which is helpful for rework in repair or prototyping scenarios.
