The Cypress CY7C008V-25AXC is a 512Kbit dual-port asynchronous SRAM organized as 64K x 8 bits. It gives two independent ports — left and right — each with its own address, data, and control lines, so two controllers or processors can read and write to the same memory array without waiting for a bus turn. The 25 ns access time means a read or write completes in 25 ns from the address or control edge, which keeps the part viable for mid-speed shared-memory designs in telecom line cards, industrial controllers, and multiprocessor buffer applications. The 3V to 3.6V supply range matches 3.3V logic families directly, no level translation needed on the data bus.
The 25 ns access time and 25 ns write cycle time allow back-to-back operations at that rate if the controller meets pulse-width requirements.
The CY7C008V-25AXC is obsolete per the manufacturer's product status. Cypress (now part of Infineon) no longer manufactures this device.
This limits the part to indoor, climate-controlled equipment — office telecom, lab instrumentation, and commercial servers. Not suitable for outdoor, industrial, or automotive environments where the ambient temperature exceeds 70°C or dips below freezing.
