The dual-port architecture includes internal arbitration logic to handle simultaneous access to the same memory location from both ports. The CY7C006A uses a 'busy' flag scheme: when both ports address the same byte, one port is granted access and the other's busy output asserts, telling its master to retry. In designs where both ports rarely contend (e.g., one port writes, the other reads different addresses), throughput approaches the full 15 ns cycle on each side independently.
