Dual-port asynchronous SRAM — shared memory for two bus masters
The Infineon CY7C006A-15AXC is a dual-port asynchronous SRAM organized 16K x 8, giving 128 Kbit of volatile storage accessible from two independent ports simultaneously. Each port has its own address, data, and control lines, so two bus masters — say a DSP and an MCU, or two processors in a multiprocessor system — can read or write the same memory location without external arbitration logic.
15 ns access time — timing margin in a 5 V system
In a system with a 5 V bus running at, say, 40 MHz (25 ns cycle), the 15 ns access gives 10 ns of margin for address decoding, buffer delays, and PCB trace flight time. If your processor or bus controller has a tighter cycle budget — 10 ns or less — this part won't meet setup times without wait states.
The CY7C006A-15AXC comes in a 64-pin TQFP (14x14 mm body) with a 0.8 mm pitch. The 0.8 mm pitch is fine for hand-soldering with a fine tip, but a hot-air rework station is safer for removal. The Tray shipping medium means you get the parts in a rigid carrier, not tape-and-reel; if your pick-and-place feeder expects tape, you'll need to transfer to a compatible carrier or order a different packing option.
