Legacy parallel EPROM for firmware-locked production
The CY27C512-70ZC is a 512Kbit (64K x 8) one-time-programmable EPROM in a 32-TSOP I surface-mount package. The 70 ns access time sets the read-cycle ceiling for the bus it connects to — a microcontroller or ASIC with a 70 ns or slower memory interface can use it without wait states.
Supply and temperature constraints for the BOM
The commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C) limits deployment to indoor, climate-controlled equipment; no industrial or automotive ambient rating. The parallel memory interface requires a full 8-bit data bus and up to 16 address lines. Board layout must match the 32-TSOP I footprint (0.724" body width, 18.40 mm) — a fine-pitch TSOP land pattern with via fan-out under the body.
Lifecycle and compliance reality
The part is RoHS non-compliant (lead-bearing solder finish), which may exempt it under certain legacy equipment directives but blocks use in new RoHS-mandated builds without a waiver.
