The BTS70041EPZXUMA1 is an Infineon PROFET® high-side power switch, single-channel N-channel output, rated for continuous load currents up to 15 A across a 6 V to 18 V supply rail. The 4.4 mOhm typical Rds(on) keeps conduction losses low enough that the 14-SOIC exposed-pad package (PG-TDSO-14-11) can dissipate the heat without active cooling in an engine-bay ambient.

Fault protection set and switching behaviour

The device integrates over-current, over-temperature, over-voltage, and short-circuit protection — the full set a 12 V automotive load (lamps, solenoids, small motors) needs to survive a load-dump or a stalled actuator without external clamp diodes or a separate current-sense resistor. Slew-rate controlled switching reduces EMI radiated from the harness during turn-on and turn-off, which matters when the switch feeds a long cable to a remote load in a vehicle body harness.
