150 mOhm high-side switch for 12 V/24 V automotive loads
The BTS452TATMA1 is a single-channel N-channel high-side power switch from Infineon's miniPROFET family, qualified to AEC-Q100 for automotive use. Its 150 mOhm typical Rds(on) and 1.8 A continuous output rating suit it for driving resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads like relays, solenoids, lamps, and small motors on 12 V or 24 V board nets. The load supply range spans 6 V to 52 V, covering nominal 12 V and 24 V systems with headroom for load-dump transients up to 52 V. No external Vcc supply is needed — the switch is self-powered from the load rail.
On-resistance and thermal budget under continuous 1.8 A
At 1.8 A continuous, the 150 mOhm Rds(on) typ produces a voltage drop of 0.27 V and dissipates roughly 0.49 W in the die. The switch integrates fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage protection. Auto-restart after a fault cycle is enabled by the feature set — the part attempts to re-close after a cool-down period, which is useful for transient overloads like lamp inrush.
Infineon lists the BTS452TATMA1 as Active. The part is ROHS3 compliant. For a production BOM that cannot tolerate a sudden stop, this status means you can commit the line without a lifecycle watch item.
