Each channel is controlled by a non-inverting On/Off logic input in a 1:1 ratio, so one logic pin drives one output with no address decoding. The output configuration is low-side (N-channel open-drain), meaning the load connects between the supply rail and the switch drain, and the switch sinks current to ground when activated.
Fault coverage for harsh environments
These protections let the switch survive a shorted load or a stalled motor without external clamp diodes or sense resistors — the part handles the fault and reports it via the Status Flag output. The 8-SOIC package (PG-DSO-8-36 footprint) keeps the board area small, but the 480 mOhm Rds(on) at 550 mA produces about 145 mW per channel — thermal vias under the package are recommended for continuous full-load operation at the high end of the temperature range.
Because this is a mature, discontinued device, date-code consistency across a production batch may vary. Buyers should confirm the date-code range and test compatibility with any downstream qualification requirements (e.g., AEC-Q grade, moisture-sensitivity level) before committing the reel to the line.
