Product details

What this HITFET low-side switch does in the circuit

The Infineon BTS3207NNT is a single-channel, low-side, N-channel power switch from the HITFET series. It drives resistive, inductive, or lamp loads up to 640 mA continuous on a 42 V max supply rail, with the load connected between the drain and the positive supply — the switch sinks current to ground when the non-inverting input is driven high. The on-resistance is 500 mOhm max at 640 mA. The PG-SOT223-4 package dissipates the resulting conduction loss.

Fault protection that keeps the load alive

Three built-in protection circuits make this a self-protecting switch: fixed current limiting prevents the output from exceeding its safe area, over-temperature shutdown protects the die if the junction hits the limit, and over-voltage clamping absorbs load-dump transients on the battery line. The auto-restart feature means the switch re-tries after a fault clears — useful for driving bulbs or motors where a temporary overload is expected.

The 150°C TJ ceiling gives headroom for self-heating in a sealed enclosure.

Obsolete — what that means for procurement

The BTS3207NNT carries an Obsolete lifecycle status from Infineon.
