Low-side switch with 12 A capacity and built-in protection
The Infineon BTS141E3045ANTMA1 is a single-channel low-side power switch from the HITFET family, designed for driving resistive, capacitive, and inductive loads in automotive and industrial systems. It switches a 60 V load rail through an N-channel MOSFET with a typical on-resistance of 25 mOhm and a continuous output current rating of 12 A. The part integrates fault protection — current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, over-voltage clamping, and short-circuit protection — plus auto restart and slew rate control for cleaner switching and reduced EMI.
Package and mounting options
Available in two package variants: the surface-mount D²Pak (TO-263-3, 2 leads plus tab) and the through-hole PG-TO220-3-5. The D²Pak suits reflow assembly with the exposed tab for thermal dissipation; the TO-220 variant works for socketed or bolted-down applications. The supplier device package listed is PG-TO220-3-5, so verify the exact variant when ordering. The Bulk shipping form means loose parts in a bag or tube, not tape-and-reel — factor that into pick-and-place handling if you need the D²Pak on a reel.
Fault protection and control features
The On/Off interface with non-inverting input makes it a direct drop-in for a GPIO-driven switch. Auto restart means the part recovers after an over-temperature or over-current fault without a power cycle — useful for lamp or solenoid loads that may see inrush. Slew rate control limits the turn-on/turn-off edge rate, reducing conducted emissions on the supply rail. The protection suite covers current limiting (fixed threshold), over-temperature, over-voltage, and short circuit, so external clamp diodes or current-sense resistors can often be omitted.
Lifecycle and compliance
Note that it is RoHS non-compliant — the part contains lead (Pb) in the solder finish or die attach. This rules it out for standard lead-free reflow profiles unless your assembly line is qualified for tin-lead or high-temperature solder. For RoHS-required builds, check the BTS142DATMA1 or other HITFET variants that may carry the -HF suffix.
Sourcing and availability
For volume commitments or long-term forecasts, we can secure allocation from multiple supply channels. The active lifecycle means no last-time-buy pressure, but the RoHS non-compliance may reduce the pool of available stock as lead-free transitions continue.
