47 GHz SiGe NPN — what this transistor is for
The Infineon BFP740FESDH6327XTSA1 is a silicon-germanium (SiGe) NPN RF transistor built for low-noise amplification from VHF up through Ku-band. Its 47 GHz transition frequency and noise figure that runs from 0.5 dB at 150 MHz to 1.45 dB at 10 GHz make it a natural first-stage LNA in base-station receivers, satellite downconverters, and microwave backhaul radios. The 4.7 V collector-emitter breakdown and 45 mA max collector current keep the bias low and the noise match tight — this is not a general-purpose switching transistor.
Gain spans 9 dB to 31 dB. The 4-TSFP package is a flat-lead SMD, 4-pin.
