Pre-biased NPN for automotive and industrial switching
The Infineon BCR146E6327 is an automotive-grade NPN pre-biased transistor in a SOT-23-3 package. It integrates a 47 kΩ base resistor (R1) and a 22 kΩ emitter-base resistor (R2), eliminating two external passives from the BOM. Rated for a collector-emitter breakdown of 50 V and a continuous collector current of 70 mA, it suits low-current switching, relay and solenoid drivers, and logic-level interface circuits in 12 V and 24 V automotive systems.
Integrated resistors simplify the BOM
The built-in bias network means the transistor is fully on with a logic-high drive — no external base resistor to size. The 47 kΩ base resistor sets a predictable base current for a given input voltage, while the 22 kΩ emitter-base resistor provides a bleed path to ensure fast turn-off and improve noise immunity. This makes the part a drop-in replacement for discrete transistor-plus-resistor pairs in space-constrained layouts.
Switching performance and saturation
With a transition frequency of 150 MHz, the BCR146E6327 handles low-frequency PWM and digital switching well into the hundreds of kilohertz. Saturation voltage is specified at 300 mV maximum at a base current of 500 µA and collector current of 10 mA, keeping conduction losses low in saturated switching. Minimum DC current gain of 50 at 5 mA, 5 V ensures consistent drive capability across temperature.
Automotive qualification and temperature range
The BCR146E6327 carries AEC-Q101 qualification, meaning it has passed the automotive stress tests for reliability — including high-temperature reverse bias, temperature cycling, and humidity. This makes it suitable for under-hood and cabin electronics where extended temperature range and long service life are required.
