Pre-biased NPN for automotive switching
The Infineon BCR133E6393 is an NPN pre-biased transistor in a SOT-23-3 package, qualified to AEC-Q101 for automotive applications. It integrates two 10 kΩ resistors — one in series with the base, one between base and emitter — which eliminates the need for external bias components in low-current switching and driver circuits. With a collector-emitter breakdown voltage of 50 V and a maximum collector current of 100 mA, it suits relay and solenoid drivers, logic-level interfaces, and load switches in automotive ECUs, body controllers, and sensor modules.
Built-in resistors simplify the BOM
The base resistor R1 and the emitter-base resistor R2 are both 10 kΩ, providing a fixed bias network that guarantees a minimum DC current gain of 30 at 5 mA collector current and 5 V Vce. This repeatable bias point is especially useful in high-volume production where external resistor tolerances and placement costs add up. The 130 MHz transition frequency keeps switching edges clean for PWM and low-speed digital interfaces up to a few megahertz.
Automotive-grade qualification
The AEC-Q101 qualification means this part has passed the stress tests required for automotive-grade discrete semiconductors: high-temperature reverse bias, temperature cycling, and humidity bias. For designs requiring a known-good automotive transistor with integrated bias, this ordering code is the one to specify.
