Pre-biased PNP — what the integrated resistors save you
The BCR 198F E6327: The Infineon BCR 198F is a PNP pre-biased transistor in a SOT-723 surface-mount package. It integrates two 47 kOhm resistors — one in series with the base (R1) and one from base to emitter (R2) — so you eliminate two external passives from the BOM and shrink the placement footprint.
190 MHz transition frequency — where it matters
With a 190 MHz transition frequency, this transistor handles switching edges well into the low-MHz range — think gate drive for a small MOSFET, relay coil suppression, or a high-speed level translator. The 100 mA maximum collector current and 50 V Vce breakdown are sized for low-power auxiliary circuits, not a main power rail. The 250 mW power limit in the SOT-723 package means you keep the load below about 50 mA continuous at 5 V if you want derating margin.
Infineon lists the BCR 198F as obsolete. No official successor is recorded in the product status. If you have this on an active BOM, you need a qualified replacement or a surplus channel.
