For new designs, a pin-compatible dual NPN/PNP transistor in SOT-363 from another manufacturer should be evaluated; the BC 847 series is a common cross-shop candidate but differs in Vceo rating (45 V vs 65 V) and should be verified against the application's voltage headroom. No last-time-buy window applies — the part is already in the surplus channel.
