Varactor for VCO and tuner circuits
The Infineon BBY6605WE6327 is a variable capacitance diode — a varactor — in a 1 Pair Common Cathode configuration, housed in a surface-mount SOT-323 (SC-70) package. It is designed for voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) tank circuits, RF tuners, and phase-locked loop (PLL) filter tuning where a reverse-bias voltage changes the junction capacitance to set the resonant frequency. Peak reverse voltage is rated at 12V, giving headroom for a typical 0V to 8V tuning line without approaching the breakdown region. The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, so this varactor can sit in an engine-bay RF module or an outdoor base-station PLL without thermal derating concerns.
Lifecycle and sourcing posture
For new designs, this means no LTB risk during the development cycle; for existing BOMs, the supply channel is stable through authorized distribution and independent stock.
