70 V / 70 mA Schottky — signal-level rectification and clamping
The Infineon BAS7002VH6327XTSA1 is a Schottky barrier diode rated for 70 V DC reverse voltage and 70 mA average rectified current. It is built for small-signal switching, not power rectification — the 70 mA Io ceiling limits it to detection, clamping, and protection roles where the load current stays well below 100 mA. The forward voltage drops to 1 V maximum at 15 mA forward current, which keeps conduction losses low in low-current loops like I/O protection or reverse-polarity blocking on a sensor supply.
100 ps reverse recovery — what it buys the switching edge
Reverse recovery time is 100 ps, which is essentially instantaneous for most switching frequencies below 1 GHz. This makes the diode suitable for RF detector circuits, high-speed logic clamping, and snubber networks where a slower pn-junction diode would introduce switching loss or timing skew. The junction capacitance is 2 pF at 0 V bias and 1 MHz, so the diode does not load high-frequency signal lines significantly. Together with the 100 ps trr, the part fits into RF front-end ESD clamps and fast comparator input protection.
Automotive-grade qualification — AEC-Q101 and SC-79 package
The maximum junction temperature is 150 °C, which gives headroom in a 105 °C ambient engine-bay environment. The SC-79 (SOD-523) package is a small two-lead surface-mount case — the supplier device code is PG-SC79-2-1.
