80 V, 4 ns trr — a fast-switching signal diode for protection and clamping
The 4 ns reverse recovery time is the spec that separates this from a general-purpose 1N4148-class diode. At 150 mA forward current the forward voltage drop is 1.25 V max, which is typical for a small-signal silicon diode. The 2 pF capacitance at 0 V (measured at 1 MHz) keeps the AC loading light in high-frequency clamp circuits. If you are replacing a slower diode in a switch-mode snubber or a high-speed logic-level translator, the 4 ns trr means you can push the switching edge without the diode holding the line low.
Package and mounting — SC-79 / SOD-523
The BAS16-02VE6327 comes in a surface-mount SC-79 package, also known as SOD-523. The supplier device package is PG-SC79-2-1, a two-pin leadless package with a small footprint. It is a single diode, so the cathode and anode are clearly marked on the package body. The junction is rated for 150 °C operating temperature, which gives enough headroom for most ambient-temperature designs. Reverse leakage is 1 µA at 75 V, a clean number for battery-powered or high-impedance circuits.
