Gate charge and switching speed
The AUIRLR120NTRL: With a maximum gate charge of 20 nC at 5 V and input capacitance of 440 pF at 25 V, this MOSFET is light enough on the gate that a standard gate-driver IC or even a push-pull transistor pair can switch it at moderate frequencies. The low Qg also means the gate-drive power loss stays small, which matters when the driver is on a tight power budget.
Package and mounting
The D-Pak footprint is a common surface-mount power package. The tab is the drain — the PCB copper area under the tab doubles as the heatsink. For 10 A continuous current, the 48 W maximum power dissipation is rated at the case, so board layout and airflow determine how much current you can actually pull. The ±16 V maximum gate-source rating gives headroom against gate-drive overshoot in noisy environments.
Sourcing and lifecycle
The AUIRLR120NTRL carries an Active lifecycle status and is ROHS3 compliant. It is a current-production part with no last-time-buy risk for new designs.
