650 V, 12 A SiC Schottky — zero recovery loss for automotive traction and PFC
The Infineon AIDK12S65C5ATMA1 is a 650 V, 12 A Silicon Carbide Schottky diode from the CoolSiC™ generation, qualified to AEC-Q101 for automotive applications. Its zero reverse recovery time (0 ns trr) eliminates the switching losses that plague silicon ultrafast diodes.
Zero trr — what it means for the switching stage
A silicon carbide Schottky has no stored minority carriers, so there is no reverse-recovery current spike at turn-off. That 0 ns trr cuts the turn-off loss to essentially the junction capacitance discharge alone.
Package and footprint — PG-TO263-2
The AIDK12S65C5ATMA1 comes in a PG-TO263-2 (D²Pak) surface-mount package with two leads plus the tab. The tab is the cathode, the two leads are the anode.
Sourcing and lifecycle
Infineon lists the AIDK12S65C5ATMA1 as Active and ROHS3 compliant. No last-time-buy or phase-out notice is on record.
