Module identity and wireless parametric base
The ESP32-MINI-1U-N4 is a compact 55-SMD module built around the ESP32-U4WDH IC, integrating a 2.4 GHz radio that supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi at up to 150 Mbps and Bluetooth v4.2 +EDR with Class 1, 2 and 3 output. On-chip memory totals 4 MB flash, 448 kB ROM, and 536 kB SRAM — enough to hold a full Wi-Fi stack and application code without external storage for many IoT endpoints.
Antenna interface and RF performance
This variant ships without an onboard PCB antenna; instead it provides a U.FL connector for an external antenna, giving the integrator control over the antenna gain pattern and placement. The conducted output power is rated at 19.5 dBm and the receive sensitivity reaches -97 dBm, delivering link budget for indoor range up to several hundred metres depending on the antenna and environment. Modulation includes 8DPSK and DQPSK for Bluetooth, with the full OFDM/CCK set for Wi-Fi. The module draws 112-118 mA in receive and 260-379 mA during transmit, so the supply rail and thermal design should budget for the transmit peak at 3.6 V.
Supply, temperature, and serial interfaces
Serial interfaces include ADC, GPIO, I²C, I²S, SDIO, SPI, PWM, and UART, covering the common peripheral mix for sensor nodes, smart-home bridges, and data loggers. The 55-SMD land pattern is a castellated-edge module that reflows with standard lead-free profiles.
