The 0603ESDA2-TR2 is an Eaton PolySurg polymer ESD suppressor in a standard 0603 (1608 Metric) surface-mount package, clamping at 35 V to protect a single signal line.
35 V clamping and polymer response
Polymer technology gives a fast snap-back characteristic: the device switches from high impedance to a low-impedance clamp in nanoseconds, shunting the ESD current to ground without the voltage overshoot typical of a TVS diode at the same capacitance. Because it is a single-circuit device, each 0603ESDA2-TR2 protects one I/O or power line — a multi-line interface needs one part per line, which is typical for 0603 ESD suppressors.
Board-fit and procurement
The 0603 (1608 Metric) footprint is a standard two-terminal chip — no special pad geometry beyond the usual 0603 land pattern, and the low profile keeps it under a 0.8 mm seated height for tight card stacks.
