Pulse power and clamping envelope
The SMCJ15A-13-F: At that power level the clamping voltage holds at 24.4 V maximum while the peak pulse current reaches 61.5 A. The 15 V reverse standoff voltage means the device does not conduct at normal rail voltage up to 15 V; the breakdown threshold sits at 16.7 V minimum, so the TVS stays out of the signal path until a transient exceeds the rail.
Board-fit and thermal integration
Housed in the DO-214AB (SMC) package with surface-mount termination. The SMC footprint offers a larger copper pad area than the smaller SMA/SMB siblings, which directly reduces the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance for a given PCB copper pour.
