Clamping profile and what it means for your rail
The SMAJ40CA-13-F: Breakdown occurs at 44.4V minimum, and clamping is specified at 64.5V maximum when the peak pulse current reaches 6.2A. That 64.5V clamp is the voltage the protected circuit must survive; if your downstream components have a 60V absolute maximum, this TVS may not hold them safe on a high-energy surge. The device operates from -55°C to 150°C junction temperature, covering industrial and automotive ambient ranges.

Housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, the SMAJ40CA-13-F mates with a standard SMA footprint. The supplier device package is also designated SMA. Tape & Reel packaging (Cut Tape available) supports automated pick-and-place assembly.
