The SMAJ14A-13-F: It clamps a 14 V nominal rail at 23.2 V maximum, with a breakdown voltage starting at 15.6 V minimum. Housed in the DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, it handles 17.2 A of peak pulse current and operates across -55 °C to 150 °C junction temperature.
Clamping voltage and breakdown margin
The 14 V reverse standoff voltage means this diode stays off below the normal operating rail — it does not conduct until the transient pushes past 15.6 V. With a single unidirectional channel, it protects one signal or power line per device. The 400 W rating at 10/1000 µs is the standard telecom surge waveform; for shorter pulses like ESD (8/20 µs) the peak power capability is higher, but the datasheet curve is the reference.
