The PI3EQX12904EZHEX is a 4-channel CML buffer and ReDriver from Diodes Incorporated, designed to clean up and retime high-speed serial signals on PCIe and SATA links. Each lane runs up to 8 Gbps, making it suitable for Gen3 PCIe and SATA 3.x backplanes or cable extenders where signal integrity degrades over trace length.

Signal conditioning and lane count

Input equalization is built into each of the four CML channels, compensating for ISI (intersymbol interference) on long PCB traces or cable runs before the signal reaches the downstream receiver. The 8 Gbps per-channel ceiling covers PCIe Gen3 (8 GT/s) and SATA 6 Gbps with margin. The 3.3V supply rail is a common SERDES voltage, simplifying power-tree design when the ReDriver shares a rail with the PCIe switch or SATA controller.
