Transient protection parameters and fit
The 1.5KE12CA-B: Its 10.2V reverse standoff voltage (V_RWM) means the protected rail can sit at 10.2V DC without the TVS conducting leakage current; the breakdown voltage range of 11.4V (min) defines where clamping begins, and the 16.7V maximum clamping voltage (V_C) at 90A peak pulse current sets the voltage the downstream circuitry must survive. The single bidirectional channel protects one signal or power rail against both positive and negative transients — useful on AC lines or differential pairs where polarity is not fixed.
Package and board integration
Supplied in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial-lead through-hole package (supplier device package DO-201), the 1.5KE12CA-B mounts into a 1.1mm diameter hole on a standard PCB or terminal strip — the axial leads allow point-to-point wiring or socketed installation in high-reliability assemblies. The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, covering military and industrial thermal environments — the 1500W peak pulse rating is derated above 25°C per the datasheet curve.
No pin-compatible direct replacement is documented from Diodes, so a BOM substitution requires reviewing the clamping voltage and package fit against an alternative TVS in the 1.5KE family.
