Product details

6.8 µH shielded drum core, AEC-Q200 qualified

The Coilcraft LPS6235-682MRC is a 6.8 µH shielded drum-core inductor in the LPS6235 series, rated for 1.3 A continuous current with a maximum DCR of 75 mOhm. The saturation current (Isat) is 2.6 A, giving headroom above the rated current for transient spikes.

Parametric fit for power rail filtering

The self-resonant frequency of 55 MHz sets the upper bound for effective filtering — above this frequency the inductor behaves capacitively. For a 1 MHz switching regulator, the 6.8 µH value and 55 MHz SRF leave plenty of margin for the fundamental and its harmonics. The shielded ferrite core contains the magnetic field, reducing radiated EMI into adjacent traces or components — a practical advantage when the inductor sits near sensitive analog or RF circuitry on the same board. The ±20% tolerance is typical for power inductors where the DC bias characteristic dominates the actual in-circuit value.
