18 µH shielded inductor for DC-DC output filtering
The Coilcraft LPS5015-183MRC is a 18 µH shielded drum-core inductor rated for 700 mA continuous current with a maximum DC resistance of 550 mOhm. The 750 mA saturation current (Isat) sits just above the rated current, so the inductance holds flat across the full operating range up to the rated limit. Shielded ferrite construction contains the magnetic field, reducing radiated EMI that could couple into adjacent traces on a densely populated board.
Temperature grade and self-resonant ceiling
Self-resonant frequency of 35 MHz defines the upper bound for effective filtering — above this frequency the inductor behaves capacitively. For a 500 kHz to 2 MHz switching regulator, the 35 MHz SRF leaves ample headroom.
