AEC-Q200 qualification — what it certifies
The LPS3015-223MRC: Rated AEC-Q200, the passive-component automotive stress qualification standard. This means the inductor has passed thermal shock, humidity bias, mechanical shock, vibration, and solderability tests per the AEC-Q200 rev D test plan.
22 µH, 570 mA — the saturation limit governs
Inductance is 22 µH at 100 kHz test frequency, ±20% tolerance. The rated current is 570 mA, but the saturation current (Isat) is 500 mA — the point at which inductance drops by 10% due to core saturation. In a DC-DC converter, the peak inductor current under transient load must stay below 500 mA, not the 570 mA continuous rating, to avoid a sudden inductance collapse that raises ripple current and output voltage ripple.
Shielded ferrite core — EMI containment
Shielded construction with a ferrite core. The magnetic shield reduces fringing flux that would couple into adjacent signal traces or other inductors on the same PCB — relevant in dense automotive ECU layouts where crosstalk between power rails and analog sensor lines must stay below 1%.
Footprint and board-fit
Surface-mount package, 2.95 mm × 2.95 mm footprint, 1.50 mm seated height. The nonstandard case outline mates with a standard 3 mm × 3 mm land pattern; the low profile fits under 2 mm clearance enclosures common in automotive camera modules and BMS slave boards.
