Transient suppression for a 24 VDC rail
The 1.5SMC36A TR13 PBFREE: That energy rating covers most industrial surge events from inductive kickback or lightning-coupled transients on field wiring.
Clamping voltage and standoff margin
Breakdown is guaranteed between 34.2 V and the clamping ceiling of 49.9 V at 30 A. The 30.8 V standoff gives roughly 6 V of headroom above a 24 V supply — enough to ride through normal ripple and regulation tolerance without nuisance triggering. This is a unidirectional device (single channel), so it clamps only one polarity. For AC lines or bidirectional protection you would need two back-to-back or a dedicated bidirectional part.
Housed in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, surface-mount, supplied on Tape & Reel. The SMC footprint is standard for 1500 W TVS diodes — the large copper tab on the bottom side conducts junction heat into the PCB plane, so the board layout must provide a low-thermal-resistance pad under the part.
Central Semiconductor lists this part as Active.
