What the hold and trip currents mean for your circuit
The 0ZCJ0005FF2E is a polymeric PTC resettable fuse from the Bel Fuse 0ZCJ series, rated for a maximum hold current (Ih) of 50 mA at 25 °C. This is the continuous current the device carries without tripping — stay at or below 50 mA for normal operation, or the internal resistance starts rising and the part enters its high-impedance trip state. When a fault pushes the current to 150 mA (It, the trip current), the PTC heats and its resistance jumps from a minimum of 3.6 ohms to a post-trip maximum of 50 ohms within 1.5 seconds (time to trip). That resistance limits the fault current to a safe level, and after the fault clears and power cycles, the device resets — no fuse replacement needed.

Rated AEC-Q200, this PTC is qualified for the stress profile of automotive electronic modules — thermal shock, vibration, and moisture resistance per the automotive passive-component standard. Additional approvals include cURus and TUV, covering North American and European safety agency requirements for overcurrent protection in end equipment.
Surface-mount reflow profile follows standard lead-free soldering; the concave body allows visual inspection of the solder joint on the terminations. The 60 V max voltage rating suits 12 V, 24 V, and 48 V bus protection in low-current signal or power paths.
